Homeowners insurance provides coverage for the contents of your home up to a specified limit listed in your policy. In the event of a loss, the insurance carrier would request a list of all personal property that was damaged along with its estimated value. Completing a Household Inventory form now could prove very beneficial should a loss ever occur. It is also recommended to keep photos of some of the property listed on your inventory sheet, especially photos of higher value or unusual items. Once complete, store the completed inventory sheet somewhere safe.
